Avyeris KANATAS was born in Amfissa. He has studied at the Higher Industrial School of Athens; and in 1951 he attended classes at the Higher School of Art in Athens. Since then he has been studying privately. He has travelled in Eastern and Western Europe as well as in North Africa and North America in order to keep himself informed on art. He paints landscapes and portraits specializing in water-colour and drawing. He has published three Albums: AMFISSA, 20 Drawings, Athens 1977; FOKIDA, Water-colours and Drawings, Athens 1981, TRAVELS Water-colours and drawings, Athens 1985. He has published 3 yearly Diaries with watercolours for 3 companies in the years : 1992, 1993 & 1999..


Exhibitions: Individually in Delphi, 1963; Holland, 1972, 1982; Athens, 1976, 1979, 1981, 1984; Amfissa, 1977, 1981; Itea, 1979, 1981; Gravia, 1980; Lidoriki, 1981. In France, 1983 twice, 1984, 1985; Germany, 1984, 1985; Lamia 1986. He took part in the Panhellenic Exhibitions of 1973 and 1975. He has also participated in several group exhibitions both in Greece and abroad.
